With the Golf & Nature quality management program, the German Golf Association (DGV) provides a practical guide for the environmentally sound and economically sustainable future of golf courses, as well as for improving playing conditions. Golf & Nature was developed in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and is supported in the implementation of its measures by the Greenkeeper Association of Germany (GVD) and the Golf Management Association of Germany (GMVD).
As the 18th golf club in Germany, the Golf Resort in Adendorf was awarded the “Golf & Nature” Gold Medal by the German Golf Association (DGV). In collaboration with the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union of Lüneburg (NABU), the golf course was planned and developed with numerous ecological compensation areas. This resulted in various orchards, biotopes, and even insect hotels.
The maintenance of the various playing and care areas has been optimized based on a detailed maintenance plan, taking environmental, golfing, and economic aspects into account. The result: the playing quality at the Castanea Resort has improved and continues to improve steadily.
Unique plants, birds, insects, reptiles, wild bees, and animals such as hares, foxes, and geese have also made their home at the Golf Resort Adendorf. Golf & Nature focuses on the following environmental priorities:
- Nature and Landscape
- Maintenance and Course Operations
- Occupational Safety and Environmental Management
- Public Relations and Infrastructure
